Connecting payments is what turns Sable from a calendar into a register. Once it’s done, you can charge cards at checkout, require deposits for booking, send invoices that collect themselves, and get automatic payouts to your bank. In the web dashboard, open Transactions and choose set up payments in the top right. This opens payment settings for your salon account, or your own payout account if you are a booth renter. The action appears for people who can configure the account and changes to create payment once the account can accept card payments. After enrollment, Sable prepares the salon’s card reader location automatically using the business address saved in Settings → Business. Payment settings shows any address or setup action needed. Check status refreshes setup, and Retry setup resumes it after a temporary interruption. Your payment enrollment stays complete while reader setup finishes. Booth renter enrollment prepares the same salon location. A renter’s payout account and hardware shipping address remain separate; the salon owner manages the salon’s business address. Buying a reader is optional. Booth renters connect their own account from Balance under Payout account on the web. In the iOS app, open Menu → Balance and tap Connect payments. Accept the payment terms, then follow the verification steps. This account belongs to the renter and receives the card payments routed to their services. Salon owners use the same iOS entry to connect the salon’s account.

What connecting involves

Sable processes payments through its payment partner, and financial regulations require verifying who’s getting paid. Expect to provide:
  • Your legal name and business details
  • A tax identifier (SSN for individuals, EIN for companies)
  • The bank account where payouts should land
Verification is usually quick, but it can drag if a document needs a second look. Do this step a few days before you plan to go live, not the morning of.

Where everything lives afterward

Transactions sits near the top of the sidebar, right under Appointments. It’s every charge and every unpaid invoice, one line at a time, newest first. Open a row to see the full payment, or to work the invoice behind it. Balance is the section below, and it’s where your money lives:
  • Overview shows what’s available to pay out, what’s on the way, your next payout, and where your money goes: gross processed, processing fees, refunds, and net deposited to your bank.
  • Payouts is the history of transfers to your bank. Payouts run on an automatic daily schedule once funds become eligible, two business days after each sale. There’s an Instant payout option for eligible balances on salon accounts when money needs to land sooner.
  • Disputes is where chargebacks appear if a client’s bank ever questions a charge.
Booth renters get the same section against their own account: Payout account for the connection itself, and Balance for what’s pending, what’s available, and when the next payout lands.

What it unlocks

  • Charging the card at the chair, with tips and retail on the same ticket. See Checkout, refunds, and receipts.
  • Booking protection: require a card, a deposit, or a no-show fee on your booking page. You set these in Settings under Booking Page.
  • Invoices that clients can pay online the moment they arrive.

If verification stalls

The usual culprits: a name or tax ID that doesn’t match records, or a document photo that’s hard to read. Check Payouts and verification for what each verification state means and what fixes it. Still stuck? Visit the Help Center to submit a support ticket.
