# Form storage

> What your form responses and photos use, how much is included with your plan, and how to add more storage when you need it.

Consultation photos add up faster than paperwork ever did. Every form response
you keep lives in your Sable storage, and the **Form storage** meter at the
bottom of the **Forms** sidebar shows exactly where you stand. Storage is part
of billing, so the meter is there for the salon owner and admins.

## What counts toward storage

* Submitted responses and their answers
* Photos, videos, and audio clients upload on a form
* Video caption files
* Images you attach to questions, welcome screens, and endings, including edited
  copies
* PDFs generated from completed forms and signed agreements

Storage belongs to the salon, not to a seat. On a salon plan, the whole team
draws from the same pool, so one stylist's photo-heavy consultation form and
another's short waiver share one number.

That covers thousands of text responses. Forms that ask for several photos per
client are what move the needle.

## Add storage

In the **Forms** sidebar, choose **Add more storage** beneath the meter.
Buying storage is the account owner's to do; an admin sees the meter and the
held-submission notice and can ask the owner to add more.

1. **Pick an amount.** The slider moves in $5 steps, and each $5 a month adds
   20 GB. You can go up to \$100 a month in one pass.
2. **Review the confirmation.** Sable shows the storage you are adding, the
   prorated amount charged today, the additional monthly charge, your new
   storage total at renewal, and the card on file for your Sable subscription.
   The authorization also covers the automatic additions described below.
3. **Agree and pay.** Tick the authorization and choose **Pay**. The new space
   is available as soon as the payment clears, and any held submissions unlock.

Today's charge covers only the days left in your current billing period. From
your next renewal, the full monthly amount appears on the same Sable invoice as
your plan, on the same card. If the quote changes between the confirmation
screen and your payment, Sable shows you the new figure instead of charging a
different amount.

No card on file yet? The confirmation screen links you to **Settings** →
**Billing** to add one first.

If your bank asks you to authenticate the payment, Sable keeps the purchase open
with a **Complete payment** link to the invoice. Storage is added once that
payment goes through.

## Automatic additions

After your first purchase you never have to come back to buy the next $5. When
your storage fills again, Sable adds another 20 GB for $5 a month, prorated the
same way and on the same card, and keeps doing that as you grow. Extra storage
tops out at \$100 a month (400 GB).

Only stored files count toward that decision. An upload still in progress never
triggers an addition.

Choose **Manage storage settings** on the purchase screen and clear
**Automatically add storage when needed** to turn them off. Turning them back
on asks you to authorize them again, and if your storage is already full the
next block is added as soon as you save. Turning them off never charges you.

If you changed your Sable plan earlier in the billing period, extra storage
becomes available right after that change is finalized on your next invoice.

## Remove extra storage

On the same **Manage storage** screen, choose **Remove extra storage at
renewal**. The add-on stops at your next renewal, and you keep the space you
already paid for through the end of that term. Responses that are already in
your account stay exactly where they are.

## When storage is full

Your forms stay open and your clients can still submit them. New submissions are
held until there is room for them, and they are not lost:

* Responses already in your account stay accessible.
* Held submissions unlock oldest first the moment you add storage.
* Held submissions are kept for 60 days, with extra room reserved so a busy week
  does not turn anyone away at the door.
* Sable notifies the owner and managers when submissions start being held, again
  in the last week before the 60 days run out, and once access is restored.

**Results** shows how many submissions are waiting, with a link straight to the
purchase screen.
